Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 July 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Sameer Azeez, sole proprietor, operating Ciyanu ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Ciyanu app you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of this agreement.

1. What Ciyanu is

Ciyanu is a health and wellbeing app for iPhone and Android. It helps you track fitness, nutrition, sleep and wellbeing, and offers AI-powered features such as meal plans, workout plans, food photo analysis, body composition estimates and chat assistants.

2. Ciyanu is not medical advice

Ciyanu is a general wellness product. It is not a medical device, and nothing in the app, including scores, insights, plans, estimates and AI chat replies, is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. AI outputs are automatically generated estimates and can be wrong. Always consult a qualified health professional before changing your diet, exercise, sleep or medication, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or take medication. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something the app said.

If you are in crisis or think you may have a medical emergency, do not use the app. Call your local emergency number immediately.

3. Who can use Ciyanu

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your country, and old enough to consent to our processing of your health data where you live. You must provide accurate account information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Subscriptions and payment

5. Fair use

You agree not to misuse the service. That includes: no attempts to break into or overload our systems, no scraping or reselling the service, no reverse engineering except where the law permits it, no uploading unlawful content, and no using the AI features to generate harmful content or excessive automated requests. AI features have per-account daily limits to keep the service reliable for everyone. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content and your data

You own the content you put into Ciyanu (logs, photos, messages, journal entries). You give us the limited licence needed to store and process it to run the service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data or delete your account, and all server-side data with it, at any time in Settings.

7. Our content

The app, its design, text, scoring systems and other content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own private, non-commercial use. Exercise demonstrations, nutrition databases and map data come from third-party sources and remain subject to their terms.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Ciyanu reliable, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". Features may change, be added or be removed as the app evolves. Third-party services the app depends on (such as AI processing, food databases and app stores) may occasionally be unavailable. If we ever discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app; our total liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, and nothing affects consumer rights that your local law guarantees.

10. Health data disclaimer

Tracking data (including data imported from Apple Health), scores, estimates and AI analyses are approximations based on the information available to the app. They may be incomplete or inaccurate and must not be relied on for medical decisions.

11. Termination

You can stop using Ciyanu and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or where we must do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 2, 9 and 12) survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without affecting mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless your local law gives you the right to sue at home.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the date at the top, and notify you in the app where appropriate. Continuing to use Ciyanu after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
